Yarn: Medium worsted in two colors.

(ch 2 counts as dc.)

Hat: With larger hook and primary color-
Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. Sl st in first sc.
Rnd 1= Ch 2, 3 dc in each dc around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Turn. (18 dc)
Rnd 2= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 2 dc) around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Turn. (30 dc)
Rnd 3= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 4 dc) around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Turn. (42 dc)
Rnd 4= Ch 2, ( 3 dc in next dc, 6 dc) around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Turn. (54 dc)
Rnd 5= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 8 dc) around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Turn. (66 dc)
Rnd 6= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 10 dc) around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Turn. (78 dc)
Rnd 7-10= Ch 2, dc around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Turn. (78 dc)
Rnd 11= Ch 2, 36 dc, 2 trc, dtrc, 2 trc, dc around. Sl st in top of ch 2. Fasten off.

Neckpeice:
Row 1=Starting at the dtrc, sk 2 trc, sk 9 dc, join with dc, 54 dc. Turn. (55 dc)
Row 2-5=Ch 2, Dc across. Turn. (55 dc)
Fasten off.

With contrasting color, join with sc. Sc around, working 3 sc in the corners and hdc in trc and dc in dtrc. Fasten off.

Visor:
With primary color ch 51. Turn.
Row 1= Sc in second ch from hook, 6 sc, 5 hdc, 26 dc, 5 hdc, 7 sc. Turn.
Row 2= Ch 1, 7 sc, 5 hdc, (dc, sk dc, ch 1) thirteen times, dc in next dc, 5 hdc, 7 sc. Turn.
Row 3= Ch 1, 7 sc, 5 hdc, (dc, sk ch 1 sp, ch 1) 13 times, dc, 5 hdc, 7 sc. Turn.
Row 4= Ch 1, 2 sc, ch 3, sk 3 sc, 2 sc, 5 hdc, dc, (ch 1, dcfp around dc) 12 times, ch 1, dc in next dc, 5 hdc, 2 sc, ch 3, sk 3 sc, 2 sc. Turn.
Row 5= Ch 1, 2 sc, sc in each ch, 2 sc, 5 hdc, (dc, ch 1, sk ch 1 sp) 13 times, dc, 5 hdc, 2 sc, sc in each ch, 2 sc. Turn.
Row 6= Ch 1, 7 sc, 5 hdc, dc in each dc and ch 1 sp, 5 hdc, 7 sc. Fasten off.
In contrasting color, sc around edges, working 2 sc in corners.

With second color ch 50. Turn, in second ch from hook, hdc, hdc across. Fasten off. Sew to top of hat.

Viser buttons, make 2: (optional, you can use regular buttons if you wish.)
With second color and smaller hook, ch 2. 6 sc in second ch from hook. 2 sc in each sc around. Sl st in next sc, fasten off. Sew to sides of helmet.

Attach visor to helmet with buttons.
