Rnd 1= 6 sc in second ch from hook.
Rnd 2= Ch 2, (3 dc in next sc) six times. Sl st in first dc, turn. (18)
Rnd 3= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 2 dc) around. Sl st in first dc, turn. (30)
Rnd 4= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 3 dc) seven times, 3 dc in next dc, 2 dc. Sl st in first dc, turn. (47)
Rnd 5= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 4 dc) nine times, 3 dc. Sl st in first dc, turn. (66)
Rnd 6= Ch 2, (3 dc in next dc, 6 dc) nine times, 4 dc. Sl st in first dc, turn. (85)
Rnd 7-12= Ch 2, dc around. Sl st in first dc, turn. (85)
Row 13= Ch 2, 65 dc. Turn. (65)
Row 14-19= Ch 2, dc across, turn. (65)
Fasten off. Join green with a sc and sc around edges. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Horns (Make two):
With green ch 25. Making sure not to twist stitches, form into a ring by sl st in first ch.
Rnd 1= Sc around. (25)
Fasten off. Join gold with a sc.
Rnd 2-3= Sc around. (25)
Rnd 4= (6 sc, sctog) three times, sc. (22)
Rnd5= Sc around. (22)
Rnd 6= 5 sc, 12 hdc, 5 sc. (22)
Rnd 7= (5 sc, sctog)three times, sc. (19)
Rnd 8-9= 4 sc, 11 hdc, 4 sc. (19)
Rnd 10= (4 sc, sctog) three times, sc. (16)

Fasten off. Stuff horn and sew to front of hat. Weave in ends.

(I guess you could also do this for a cow costume or in Longhorn colors...)
