Eezy-Breezy Basket


 This is a super easy and quick project to whip up with scraps. It is about six by four inches and is perfect for holding those miscellaneous items all over your dresser or end table.



Hook size: H/8 (5 mm)
Yarn: Medium worsted

Base: Ch 23
Row 1= Hdc in third ch from hook, hdc across. Ch 2, turn. (21 hdc)
Row 2-7= Hdc in each hdc across. Ch 2, turn. (21 hdc)
Fasten off. Weave in ends

Sides, long (make 2): Ch 23
(WS)Row 1= (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in) in sixth ch from hook, sk 2 ch, dc,* dc, sk 2 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch, sk 2 ch, dc*. Repeat from * to * till end of row. Ch 3, turn.
(RS)Row 2= *(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp, 2 dcfp around dc*. Repeat to end of row, dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3= *(2 dc, ch  1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp, 2 dcbp around dcfp*. Repeat to end of row, dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4= Repeat row 2.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

Sides, short (make 2): Ch 16
(WS)Row 1= (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in sixth ch from hook, sk 2 ch, 2 dc, sk 2 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch, sk 2 ch, dc. Ch 3, turn.
(RS)Row 2= (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp, 2 dcfp over dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp, dc in turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3= (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp, 2 dcbp over dcfp, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in ch 1 sp, dc in turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4= Repeat row 2.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

Assembly:
With the WS facing the base, sew the foundation row of each side to the edge of the base. Sew the sides together.
